These are some of the design development drawings and scale models for the ‘Vertical Garden’. A residential tower under construction in the heart of inner Sydney designed by architect Jean Nouvel in association with Botanist Patrick Blanc (a renowned green thumb with infamous green HAIR).
Now marketed as Central Park, the development will be the world’s tallest Vertical Garden, standing 150 metres tall, composed of 4,528 native Australian plants from 69 different species, making for a colourful backdrop to the fringe of inner Sydney.
“The building, together with my Vertical Garden, will be an architectural work floating in the air, with plants growing on the walls – it will create a very special result that will be very new to Sydney.’ says Blanc about Central Park.
The scale of the project is rare so close to the heart of the Sydney business district, the project encompasses residential, commercial„ retail, and new public park on a heritage listed Carlton Brewery site. It also has some epic cantilevered residential units.. Wow factor indeed.
